Universal Blockchain for Humans and AI: The ZetaClient Upgrade
Nov 24, 2025
ZetaChain Team
At ZetaChain, our mission is to build the Universal Blockchain that makes using Web3 as simple and unified as the internet for both humans and AI. Following our UNISON (V36) mainnet upgrade, today’s ZetaClient release introduces single-transaction multi-deposit capabilities for Universal Apps and moves us closer to our long-term target of ~2-second block times. ZetaChain is becoming the L1 execution layer for AI-powered agents that can perform complex cross-chain workflows on behalf of users with a single instruction.
What is ZetaClient and Why this Upgrade Matters
You shouldn’t need to think about which chain your assets sit on. ZetaClient handles all the cross-chain work behind the scenes, routing deposits and powering Universal Apps on the Universal EVM.
If the Universal EVM is where developers define what a Universal App does, ZetaClient is the part that ensures every cross-chain deposit, call, and settlement actually happens. And as AI agents take on more user actions, ZetaClient is what turns natural-language intent into real cross-chain execution.
Today’s major upgrade makes ZetaChain more:
Expressive: Multi-deposits in a single transaction let Universal DEXs like Zuno batch complex actions into one cross-chain step.
Resilient: More stable inbound processing under stress, reducing missed or delayed transactions.
Faster: Lays the groundwork for ~5× faster outbound keysigning and improved observability.
Interoperable: Universal Apps can now reach native Sui and Solana dApps via new
withdrawAndCallsupport (Sui) and larger payloads (Solana).
One Click, Many Cross-Chain Actions
ZetaClient now supports multiple EVM calls inside a single inbound transaction. In practice, this means one deposit of token(s) on any connected chain (e.g. USDC and USDT on Ethereum) can now spread out into many coordinated smart-contract actions on the Universal EVM all in one click.
For DEXs and other DeFi apps, this unlocks true multi-deposit behavior. A user deposits once, and the app can split that into several actions, routing part of the capital into Bitcoin, another part into Ethereum or Solana, updating LP positions, handling fees, or executing any extra logic all within a single cross-chain operation.
For AI agents, the upgrade is even more powerful: a single natural-language instruction can now trigger an entire sequence of on-chain actions through one deposit. Instead of performing 5–10 separate cross-chain transactions, the agent can execute the whole workflow in one shot.
A single user instruction becomes a multi-step cross-chain workflow using ZetaClient’s new multi-deposit capability. Note, multi-deposits only support EVM calls with non-EVM support coming in the future.
Universal DEXs like Zuno already enable native cross-chain trades across Bitcoin, EVM chains, and Solana. This upgrade improves capital efficiency, simplifies complex trade execution, and makes the UX dramatically cleaner. The user sees “one trade,” even when the Universal App is performing many coordinated steps behind the scenes.
On the road to ~2-second block times
Earlier this year, the ZetaChain Lightning upgrade reduced block times and introduced a path toward ~2-second finality while preserving decentralization.
This ZetaClient release moves us closer to that goal. Fast block times are critical for AI agents, which rely on near-real-time execution when acting autonomously on behalf of users. With multi-deposit support and upcoming batch-keysign improvements, Universal Apps like Zuno can complete more work per second, settle faster, and stay reliable during traffic spikes.
Looking ahead
Next on the roadmap:
AI-native execution:
Expanding how AI agents can initiate, batch, and monitor cross-chain actions directly through ZetaChain.
Decentralized AI integrations:
Support for new on-chain AI platforms as part of a stealth AI initiative.
Speed upgrades:
Continued progress toward ~2-second block times and an even smoother cross-chain UX.
Stronger EVM parity:
Ongoing improvements to deliver the same capabilities developers expect from Ethereum Mainnet.
Deeper cross-chain integrations:
Tighter integrations across Bitcoin, Solana, Sui, and more so Universal Apps truly reach everyone from a single L1.
If you’re building a Universal DEX, cross-chain yield product, or any app that orchestrates complex multi-chain actions, now is the time to turn on multi-deposits and start enabling AI-driven user interaction!
