The Next Step for ZETA Points in ZetaLabs

ZetaLabs goes down in history as a pivotal bootstrapped initiative on ZetaChain testnet. We showcased omnichain functionality to the world with a native cross-chain swap, including native BTC support — with no bridging, wrapping, or locking of assets. Together, across 3.2 million total users, we drove more than 15 million cross-chain transactions. Our hyper growth also played a major role in developer discovery of ZetaChain, which lead to more than 44,000 smart contracts deployed to date and over 150 companies integrated on testnet. With that, today we announce the end of the ZETA Points program.
The history of ZETA Points
With our launch of ZetaLabs was the introduction of ZETA Points and Leaderboard. ZETA Points was a mechanism for community members to track their progress and contributions to ZetaLabs. It encouraged frequent testing of the Swap app and new user participation via referrals. The system incentivized network testing to help expose bugs and inform network upgrades. The in-app Leaderboard page showed how members stacked up against the rest of the community.
Looking forward
As we approach mainnet, ZetaChain closes the ZETA Points program to make space for something new. While ZETA Points are no longer available to earn, all points already earned will remain unchanged and viewable on the ZetaLabs leaderboard page. Users can also still view the exciting apps building in our ecosystem and enter ongoing incentivized testing campaigns with OKX Cryptopedia, Bitget Wallet, and more to come. We will follow up with an important update in the next few weeks.
