Today, we’re proud to announce a strategic partnership with MBlock, the blockchain division of Korea’s Maeil Business Newspaper (Maekyung Media Group), which has joined ZetaChain as a validator and ecosystem partner.

Often referred to as the “Financial Times of Korea,” Maeil Business Newspaper is one of Asia’s most trusted economic dailies. Through MBlock, it now actively participates in ZetaChain’s validator network and broader mission to expand cross-chain access and awareness.

MBlock Secures the Universal Blockchain as a Validator

MBlock is now a validator on ZetaChain’s L1 — the first and only Universal Blockchain that connects all blockchains, including non-smart contract chains like Bitcoin. By operating validator nodes, MBlock contributes to block production, consensus, and security, helping decentralize and scale the ZetaChain network.

MBlock joins a growing list of major validators that includes Google Cloud, Deutsche Telekom, Coinbase, stc Bahrain, and Alibaba Cloud, demonstrating rising institutional trust in ZetaChain’s infrastructure.

Accelerating Institutional Awareness in Korea

Beyond technical validation, MBlock brings local insight, credibility, and media reach to ZetaChain’s growth in Korea. Together, MBlock and ZetaChain will co-produce initiatives designed to onboard mainstream users, demystify blockchain technology, and showcase real-world use cases of cross-chain Universal Apps.

This initiative includes localized articles, explainers, and media programming tailored to Korea’s vibrant blockchain audience with a focus on institutional accessibility.

Bridging Cultures to Expand the ZetaChain Ecosystem

This partnership marks a key step in ZetaChain’s ongoing expansion across Korea and the broader Asia region. Today, more than 8,400 active members comprise ZetaChain’s Korean community, participating in a range of activities such as Learn & Earn campaigns with major institutions like Upbit. Engagement with Korea’s broader Web3 ecosystem includes a strong presence at Korea Blockchain Week and community-led initiatives, with an even greater presence and slate of activities planned for 2025.
MBlock’s parent company, Maekyung Media Group, is also known for its decades of financial journalism and for hosting the influential World Knowledge Forum summit with global leaders, CEOs, and thought leaders. MBlock’s addition to the validator set brings both decentralization and cultural relevance to ZetaChain’s growing ecosystem.

Private ZetaChain x MBlock Ecosystem Event in Seoul

To kick off the collaboration, ZetaChain and MBlock will co-host a private ecosystem event in Seoul in early September 2025. This curated gathering will bring together ZetaChain community members, institutional partners, and industry leaders to celebrate the partnership and explore the future of Universal Apps in Korea.
