Earlier this year, we announced our infrastructure partnership with Alibaba Cloud, marking a major step in scaling Universal Apps that span all of Web3.

Today we’re excited to announce the next phase in that partnership: the Universal AI Hackathon, offering up to $200,000 in grants for builders across the Asia-Pacific region, in partnership with LXDAO.

With Alibaba Cloud and LXDAO, we’re creating a sandbox for developers, mentors and communities to innovate with ZetaChain’s Universal Blockchain and integration of Alibaba’s Qwen AI.

Join the Universal AI Hackathon

The program runs in two phases:

• Co-Learning Workshop

  (11.24-12.7): Participants dive into ZetaChain’s core technology (Universal EVM, Universal Smart Contracts, ZetaChain Toolkit) plus Qwen AI integration, through structured curriculum and live sessions with experts from ZetaChain and Alibaba Cloud.

• Casual Hackathon

  (12.8-12.21): Apply that learning. Work solo or in teams to design and prototype Universal Apps powered by Qwen AI. The focus: creativity and real-world experimentation.

Outstanding projects may be invited for further incubation and ecosystem grants of up to $200,000 to help grow the Universal Blockchain ecosystem.

Cross-Chain DeFi

Build once on ZetaChain to directly compose with apps and assets across chains such as Bitcoin, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Base, Solana, and more. Use ZetaChain’s Universal EVM to create unified multichain DeFi applications that go beyond one-stop cross-chain swaps. Optionally add Qwen AI for intelligent automation and optimization.

AI-Powered Applications

Integrate Qwen AI into ZetaChain applications to create interactive, intelligent and adaptive user experiences. From AI-driven wallets and agents to automated DeFi strategies or multichain dashboards, this track encourages builders to blend AI with ZetaChain’s native cross-chain capabilities. Build the next generation of AI × Web3 experiences.

A New Chapter for ZetaChain in APAC

This initiative marks a significant expansion in ZetaChain’s engagement across the Asia-Pacific region. Leveraging our infrastructure partnership with Alibaba Cloud, we now invite builders to think beyond existing crypto narratives and imagine new AI-native Universal Apps that operate seamlessly across chains, understand user intent, and act on it.
