On July 15, 2025, NTT Digital, the Web3 arm of Japan’s largest telecommunications company and a member of the Fortune Global 500 NTT Group, hosted a 120+ person exclusive executive event in Tokyo in collaboration with ZetaChain, the Universal Blockchain with native support for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and more.

Held at docomo R&D OPEN LAB ODAIBA, the invite-only gathering brought together select leaders from enterprises, Web3 startups, and the public sector to explore the future of decentralized infrastructure, interoperable applications, and real-world use cases powered by cross-chain technology.

Strengthening a Strategic Partnership

This event builds on the growing relationship between NTT Digital and ZetaChain, following the announcement earlier this year that NTT Digital joined ZetaChain as a validator. By helping secure the Universal Blockchain, NTT Digital reinforced its commitment to advancing enterprise-ready Web3 infrastructure in Japan.

ZetaChain’s mission is to make crypto as seamless and connected as the internet, enabling developers to build Universal Apps that operate across all chains without wrapped tokens or bridges. With NTT Digital’s strong enterprise reach and focus on blockchain innovation, the two organizations are aligned on accelerating the adoption of real-world Web3 solutions in Japan and beyond.

Event Highlights

The July 15th evening event at docomo R&D OPEN LAB ODAIBA, Tokyo opened with remarks from Demi, Core Contributor at ZetaChain, and Atsushi Ito, Senior Manager at NTT Digital.

A number of panels segments were featured, covering self-sovereign identity and global trends, wallet innovations, and stablecoin/ID interoperability. Speakers included Akihisa Ishida, Founder & CEO of Cabinet, Eisuke Endo, Managing Director/CTO at NTT Digital, and Kenta Takahashi, Ph.D., Principal Researcher at Hitachi. Another panel focused on how the “Universal Blockchain Opens Up the Frontline of Web3 Adoption Cases”.

The event emphasized Japan’s push toward Web3, aligning with global regulations and addressing challenges like data privacy and chain fragmentation. Attendees noted a large turnout, highlighting NTT Digital’s influence in Asia and ZetaChain’s role in connecting disparate blockchains for better UX.

The event concluded with a networking session and refreshments, where executives, developers, and innovators exchanged ideas and formed high-value connections and partnerships.

ZetaChain’s Focus in Japan

ZetaChain continues to deepen its presence in Japan, with a growing community of developers, users, and institutional partners. Earlier this year, ZetaChain hosted a major side event at the 2025 Web3 & AI Super Conference in Tokyo.

To support this growth, ZetaChain maintains active local-language communities including Twitter Japan, Telegram Japan, Discord Japan Channel. ZetaChain is also focusing on improving developer tools, native language documentation across all content and products as well as collaborations with leading Japanese Web3 teams to bring new, innovative Universal Apps to the crypto ecosystem.
